Oscar Daniels was killed in 1925 in a fatal train derailment, in upstate New York when the steam compartment blew open in his attempt to close the unit he was fatally burned. The sleeping car Siroo Wich he was assigned to was renamed Daniels. the only Pullman Porter in which a sleeping car was named after.
